From playing soccer and swimming in her youth to integrating fitness into her teaching curriculum, Melani has always valued the role of wellness in her life. After running her first marathon in Chicago, she was hooked on the adrenaline and camaraderie of the fitness community.
In the years that followed, Melani pursued her CrossFit certifications and founded Running 505, a non-profit aimed at fostering holistic wellness among 5th to 8th graders. Burque CrossFit was designed to extend Running 505's reach, providing positive wellness outcomes for a broader segment of Albuquerque's community. This non-commercial affiliate stands out with its extensive community collaborations and outreach programs, targeting youth, educators, veterans, active military, seniors, second language learners, and sober living programs, among others.
The club’s mission is to make high-quality training accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or fitness level.
